Planning your dream wedding is fun – until it’s not anymore.
We know, you’ve been dreaming of this day your whole life and ever since he put a ring on it, you’ve been flipping through the pages of Wedding Bells, snooping through the Wedluxe blogs, and filling your Pinterest board with eye-catching ideas. This is going to be the best Wedding ever!
But what comes after that? And where do you start? And when?
Then comes the avalanche of unsolicited advice from well meaning family members and friends (I thought that only happened to pregnant women?), the bombardment of emails and calls from vendors asking for details, and the constant dinging from your phone reminding you that something is due. And even if you have the patience and grace of Mother Teresa to handle all this, after a few months, the love you have for your wedding can start to wane and planning can begin to feel like work.
This is where we come in.
We love details, thrive under pressure, and enjoy the challenge of multitasking phone calls, emails, and meetings. What keeps us going, is you. You’ve been imagining this day for a long time and now that you’ve found the person you want to spend the rest of your life with, you deserve to enjoy every minute of it – from beginning to end. And it is our pleasure to help you do just that.
VALERIE TESORO – Owner + Lead Planner + Sangria Lover + Kate Spade Addict
Growing up, my family’s home was always the “go-to” place for parties and special occasions. As a little girl, I watched my mother slave over the kitchen, meticulously arrange dinnerware, and adorn our home with all sorts of beautiful décor. Then when I grew up, she passed her love (and OCD) for planning onto me.
My training and passion lies in hospitality and customer service. I graduated from the George Brown College Event Planning program with honors and while completing my studies, also attained my WPIC designation as a Canadian Certified Wedding Planner.
One of the major benefits I bring to all of my weddings and events is my all around experience in the events industry. I’ve worked for The Shangri La Hotel Toronto, a 5 star luxury international hotel, byPeterandPauls, a mega hospitality company in Vaughan as a venue manager, on the event team of Bank of Montreal’s training facilities… and others in between! Other than my extensive knowledge and training in event logistics, one of the things I bring to the table that many other planners may not, is my previous experience as a venue manager. Because of this, I understand how weddings operate on the other side of the fence and so this enables me to coordinate a seamless event together with your vendors and venue.
While I’m confident that my skills, combined with my love for breathtaking design and passion for remarkable experiences allow me to provide you with a memorable, stress-free wedding, I firmly believe that planning your wedding shouldn’t feel like a job. I love working with quirky, fun loving couples with a great sense of humor. If you’re into detail rich, personalized weddings (bonus points if you like themes) with a twist of glam, and looking for someone to keep you super organized with a foolproof wedding itinerary – then we’re a match made in heaven!
I hope to be a part of your journey and look forward to making your special day one of the best days of your life.
